こんにちは！ I’m Matsu, a Japanese-English bilingual & born and raised in Japan. I started my channel to help teach Japanese language and culture to anyone who was interested. Since then, we’ve grown to an amazing community of over 400,000 nakamas - and still growing every day.

What’s a NAKAMA?

In Japanese, “Nakama” (なかま　仲間）means a trusted friend, ally, or insider. Someone you can trust to have your back. You’ll hear this word a lot in anime and in real life in Japan and it’s a big part of understanding the culture.
